Switch to MVC or Continue Windows App Development

I am working as windows app developer in a company with almost one year experience. I have got better command at it now but as I see everywhere more future scope in Android, IPhone and MVC I think about switching to MVC as it is part of microsoft technologies. Is it a good move or should I continue in Windows App Development? Please advise me.

Before deciding to switch ask these questions to yourself:

Are you interested to switch?
Which technology that you are passionate about?

The reason why I ask is because deciding a job to take will impact your career path. Either you will become successful or not. Most successful people tends to focus on the platform and technology that they are passionate about it. For example if you are interested into web then focus on the web technologies and related stuff. Don't jump over to one technology to another because at the end you will end up not having a solid background on the technology and worst you end up not getting a job that pays you well. Having knowledge on different technologies is nice since you acquire more skills sets but don't do it just because it's hip, hot or trending. Instead do it because you are interested in that and would love to get your hands dirty on the technology.

Now if you are interested into web then I'd suggest you to familiarize your self into ASP.NET Web Forms first since you are coming from a Windows app background. Jumping into MVC might confuse you and might give you a hard time on understand how stuff works over the web. But if you are a true warrior and up for challenges then go a head and learn MVC. There are tons of getting started tutorials that you can refer out there. Just start with the basics and learn one step at a time. Trust me you gotta love MVC :)
