Switching career

What is your reason to switch from .NET developer to MSBI and SQL developer? They all go together. Its not one or other. You need to keep learning new things, in this case Power BI and data.

 

The problem with Power BI is, is it designed for non developers so there are limited number of jobs for Power BI developers. Plus a majority of the jobs may not be long term projects.  

 

The key however is "cloud". Anything you do, goal should be to do that in Azure. That is where the most new jobs will be, doing everything in the cloud. 

 

If you want to learn something new, learn Azure and how to build, deploy, and run .NET apps in Azure.
