I know this is an old thread, but I am posting here for general benefit. To use Tesseract with .NET, you will need a .NET wrapper for it. There's a good discussion of this here: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/15659278/tesseract-3-0-ocr-net-4-0-wrapper There are also good OCR engines for .NET that don't need wrappers, such as Lead Tools Advantage.

use ‘ Microsoft Office Document Imaging’ (MODI) component for OCR convertion. you have to install MODI.
