Trigger my batch job when a new file is created in a folder

Well, the most simplest approach is by using FileSystemWatcher class, this provide you the facility to trigger the event whenever a file created/modified/deleted.

 

When it gets triggered, then you can freely invoke your batch job.

You can use IIS Transformation Manager and setup a watch folder.

I have two approach for this task to achieve,

 

1) Very Simple create the Task and add the code in that task to keep checking for the file count change in the folder, if there is any file added then in "IF" trigger the task that you want to execute with that file, if not "ELSE" just keep monitoring the folder, this is not the optimized way however it is very simple and easy to implement.

 

2) Use power shell, this acn be acahived even teh folder is moved to any remote server, see the details provided in reference link.
