User Login username is given then display the password box

I hope you are looking something like this.

First, use a stored procedure and fetch all user names from table. For example,

CREATE PROCEDURE usp_get_usernames
AS BEGIN
SELECT user_name FROM PersonalData
END

Collect the result in a datatable like below,

public void GetResults()
{
SqlConnection connect = new SqlConnection(ConfigurationManager.ConnectionStrings["connect"].ToString());
connect.Open();
SqlCommand command = new SqlCommand("usp_get_usernames",connect);
command.CommandType = CommandType.StoredProcedure;
command.ExecuteNonQuery();
SqlDataAdapter adapter = new SqlDataAdapter(command);
DataTable table = new DataTable();
adapter.Fill(table);
connect.Close();
if(table.Rows.Count>0)
{
string strUserName = txtUserName.Text; (Assuming your user name textbox ID as txtUsername)
//I am using Linq here to read the username value in your DataTable result..
bool blnUser = table.AsEnumerable().Any(row => strUserName ==row.Field("your_username_column"));
if(blnUser == true)
{
txtPassword.Visible = true; (Assuming your password textbox ID as txtPassword)
}
else
{
txtPassword.Visible = false;
}
}
}

Hey Logesh,

Fetching all user name is very costly method in performance terms. So you can check the username exists in table or not. Based on return value, you can show/hide the password text box.
