The term "cybersecurity mesh" was coined by Gartner to describe a new method of security that is more adaptive, agile, and scalable to the fast changing digital environment. The goal of cybersecurity mesh is to develop a more decentralised and distributed security architecture that can safeguard users and digital assets no matter where they are or what hardware is being used to connect to the network.
Security services are dispersed among numerous nodes, such as edge devices, cloud services, and IoT devices, in a cybersecurity mesh. Via their mesh network connections, these nodes form a seamless, integrated security environment that can defend against a variety of threats.
One of the main advantages of cybersecurity mesh is that it can offer more thorough defence against new threats. As a result of the security services being spread among several nodes, it is more difficult for attackers to identify a single point of weakness. Additionally, the mesh design can support more contextual and granular security policies that can adjust to the unique requirements of various people and devices.
Overall, cybersecurity mesh is a brand-new security paradigm that places an emphasis on adaptability, flexibility, and agility. Cybersecurity mesh is going to play a bigger role in the security landscape as digital threats develop and grow more sophisticated.
