Interesting question, Partial View is nothing but user control in ASP.NET classic. You can create Partial view which could be rendered as part of page. it is same way we used to create user control in ASP.NET classic. Create cshtml class and as partial view (MVC gives checkbox to select partial view while adding into solution) Lets say you want to show grid data on a page then Grid can be designed in partial view and could be binded with Model later and partially rendered with the help of razor engine. - Ashish

what is partial View The partial view is also a view. The main purpose of partial view is reusability. Normally partial view is part of another view. Say for example, in this website you can design the "footer part" alone as a partial view and you can use it in every page. So you can imporve the concept of reusability. As the previous poster told, it is equivalent to "User Controls" in WebForm world. how to execute it in MVC Just, include it in the main view or return the partial view as a action result.
