what is the difference between these two conversions

In both cases you will get exception. Region you are converting a text into number

Here is the correct example

string data="Test";

string value1=Convert.ToString(data); // This will allow null value

string value2=data.ToString();// This will not accept null value

First of all syntax is wrong in both cases.

convert.toint23('asdf'.tostring());

convert.toint32('asd');

In both cases you will get a runtime exception.

Convert.ToInt32("asdf".ToString());

Convert.ToInt32("asdf");

ToString() not handle null value. for that you have to use Convert.Tostring('asdf')
