There is no professional way to write query in MSSql. But keep in mind and follow some steps during the query writing that would be good for performance of your query. Think about only performance not writing ways.
1. Avoid unnecessary joins.
2. Avoid loops and cursor.
3. Creation Indexes.
Etc....
