Hi Anand, If there are many classes which want to access the same method then you create a seperate class and put that method in the newly created class using static keyword so that the other classes can access it. The meaning of the word 'static' used here is to declare memory allocation of the object at the time of compilation itself.CLR (Common Language Runtime ) allocates memory to objects whenever it comes across the new operator. Example: Person person = new Person(); Here, as soon as CLR finds the 'new' operator it allocates a new memory location for that object 'person'. Thus we can access the members of the class using its object dynamically. When we use the static keyword, CLR allocates a memory location for the class during compilation and never again at runtime. That's why we use the static keyword: to tell the CLR to create a static memory allocation for the class. And this is the same reason why we can't instantiate a static class.

Hi Anand, When a variable is declared as static, then a single copy of the variable is created and shared among all objects at the class level. Static variables are accessed with the name of the class, they do not require any object for access.
