What is the significance of DLL file in C#?

What is the significance of DLL file in C#? because even without DLL files, we can make our program and it will run easily. Plz point by point elaborate it, since i m a novice. Thank u.

OK, sayed, first the dll means dynamic library link. in .Net envirement and in windows in general there are two types of assemblies the exe witches are the executable and the dynamic library link, the purpose of the dynamic library link is to store code in order to use it and re use it again when we need it dll offers the flexibility to be used by more than one exe assemly.
