i have a question. i have an abstract class with a abstract method, for the derived class, i would like to know what keyword do i use to ignore having to implement the abstract method

@Sachin i know about virtual but why I am asking is I don't have permission to change to virtual

an abstract class can have both abstract and nonabstract methods, so if you don't want to implement it then don't make it an abstract method instead use virtual so that the child class can implement it or ignore it if they wish.
public abstract class E
{
    public abstract void AbstractMethod(int i);

    public virtual void VirtualMethod(int i)
    {
         // implement it here
        // this implementation can be overridden by subclasses if they wish no
         //force though
    }
}

public class D : E
{
    public override void AbstractMethod(int i)
    {
        // You HAVE to override this method
    }
    public override void VirtualMethod(int i)
    {
        // You are allowed to override this method, you can ignore also.
    }

There's no such keyword. Either the child class is also abstract, or you must implement the abstract methods of the parent class. In fact, it's what gives meaning to abstract methods.
