What's the purpose of app.config file in C#.

The app.config file can be used to provide configuration information in your application. Listing all the details of what you can do with the app.config file is a little too large for this post, instead I will point you to the msdn documentation : http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/cpguide/html/cpconapplicationconfigurationfiles.asp Here is a quick example on what you can do with it: include this app.config file in your windows form application. Once the application is compiled you can retrieve the information stored in the configuration file. private void button1_Click(object sender, System.EventArgs e) { MessageBox.Show(System.Configuration.ConfigurationSettings.AppSettings["SomeKey"]); } Regards, Dominique LeBlond
