These words are mine: So its a messaging broker used mostly in disconnected architectures i.e. one application component is sending a message, it lives in RabbitMQ storage queue. Then another application component picks it up and processed it later on. there can be multiple sending and processing components. Most widely used in ecommerce sites where orders keep coming from many sources, and there may be 1 order processor who picks up orders from a queue and processes it in sequence. Microsoft has similar offering named Azure Service Bus. Google it.

You use rabbitmq when a user requests that your service does something that may take a significant amount of time. Very generally, anything that takes more than 30 seconds should use a service like rabbbitmq. This may be processing files (e.g., video encoding, OCR), processing transactions (e.g., credit card payments, sending large emails), or processing human-to-human interactions (e.g., chat). All rabbitmq does is provide an efficient way to store pending transactions & requests & forward them on to somewhere else that handles them. It’s often a very backend process. Similar to a post-office distribution center. These distribution centers never talk to individual customers, they just take in mail, store them briefly, sort them, and send them off.
