Where to learn ADO .NET?

Question

I was told at work that I can start my journey as a junior C# developer working with ADO .NET. Entity Framework has yet to be widely used in our company, so ADO .NET is the current way to go.

 

What can I read to get my feet wet with ADO .NET? Information in Troelsen and on MSDN doesn't seem to be structured well for the purpose of learning and looks more like a general overview.

 

What would you recommend to become productive as soon as possible? Thank you.
