which database is good between MS Access and MySql for C# Winform Application and why?

Hello Narendra,

if you are creating standalone application.. Then consider Microsoft SQL Compact Edition; this is an embedded database that runs in your application. It does not include some features like triggers and procedural extensions, but it is much simpler to use than DBMSes like SQLite, and requires no administration from users.

Also, Visual Studio 2010 comes with tools for building and deploying CE databases; you don't need to install anything.

and if you are going to use server side database then prefer My Sql

my sql is more secure than ms access.
it depend upon you data amount.
if data is more it is better to use my sql.
for small transation purpose ms acces is good as database.
data access time in ms access is more faster than my sql.
my sql take more time .

@ Mr. Thakur and Sagar. I would love to use MS Access but i have not all codes like searching data, move next,pre, move first and last, and sorting the data by alphabet :(

@ Altaf Ansari, i'm using visual studio 2010 and i have not installed any external dbms like SqlLite or MySql. I want to make small standalone C# Application. So i am using local database in my program. Mostly I have done all but when i builded the setup and run application, it shows a error message " Can not access database to open and write".. Any idea What should i do?

If you are working with c# then you should go for MS Access because both are Microsoft product and can provide proper bridge.

If you are developing smal application then go with MS access database,Because

MS Access database is more suitable for desktop use with a small number of users accessing it simultaneously. MS Access works very good in local use.It is easy to use.
