Which Technology should choose for the development?

I am having generalized question in the mind. I want to design the complex web application and it will be used by around 1 Lac users. Forget you are from java or .Net stream. if you are an architect which technology you will choose java or .Net.

Please advise why and it benefits.

Hi,

I guess this is really good question. I am working on SharePoint since last 8 years, handled up to 60,000 users.

Even now I am not sure for the exact answer since there are till different scenarios available. But found one link, please go through it once
