Hi Kularathne IK,
You needs to unbox the thing :
ExecuteScalar() returns object. --> Reference Type
int count --> Here int is value type.
So reference type to value type. --> Unboxing
Unboxing :
int count = (int)cmd1.ExecuteScalar();
