Why the Latest Articles shows old Articles ?

Suthish, the problem is that currently when articles are revised, they bump other articles off the front page list. Sometimes that is advantageous but many times it would be better to give everyone more time to look at the newest articles. This is more of a problem when there is maintenance being done. Recently they have had to revise a few articles because some of them were categorized into too many categories. So many articles for which the only change was the reduction of the categories bumped other articles off the list sooner than they would be otherwise.
 
One possible solution is to list the new articles for a specified length of time, not for a specified number of articles. So in other words list the articles that are two days old or less or a week old or less or whatever period of time is chosen, instead of listing the 20 most recent articles.
 
I think many people are lazy and don't want to have to be distracted by old articles; they only want new articles. So you see being lazy can work both ways; keeping the list together is good for some people and not good for others. Many years ago the CodeGuru web site sent out monthly newsletters (I suppose they still do but I have not seen one for many years) and in the newsletter they listed articles. The list included both revised articles and new articles. I got so tired of looking at the long list of articles that I seldom read the newsletter. I did not care to see the long list of revised articles; I was interested in the new articles but it was too much work to overlook the revised ones. I really think it would be more effective to have separate lists.

I think we should keep new articles tab first because more users are interested in new articles. Are we agreeing on this?
Also, having images separate new and updated articles will not work because sometimes we get more than 20 new articles a day + updated articles. That would push some new articles ourside of the list. If we put two tabs, then we can easily show 40 articles daily.
 

Why if we have an "Updated/New" image icon on next to the article title or end of title text instead of another tab.

We can avoid a mouse click, am lazy :).

How you posted the image in editor, am trying but not happening.

I will add this feature (new Latest Updated tab) in our new feature request. It will just take some time because we have to replace home page Latest Articles are Grid with a Tab control and place Grid on the tab control.

Add another tab next to Latest Articles called "Latest Updated". --> Will be an good idea.
 
Reason why I asked this question is, New Articles are going down or moving over to the next page. Sometimes we miss out the new articles in the next page.

I agree with Mike. Some of the articles are so old (published in 1999) and if they are updated, they should come on the home page. Articles however have their original posted date. We will probably show the Revision history for the article.

If you update your articles, they will come to the latest articles again. We do this because most of the time, I am or someone is updating their articles either fixing errors, uploading new code or update articles to next version.
