Why we use WPF ? what benifit it gives when we use it for web application and windows application ?

Hi all ,

Previously i was working with old win forms .net 2.0.Later

I have used WPF for both my windows and web applications.Further
i have used WPF basic controls and NOT USED RICH OR ADVANCED WPF CONTROLS.

But i dont know why i used wpf and what benefit i got ??

I feel like only in front - end design part it is better to use wpf than old win forms.
back-end coding there is only a very little different but concepts are same.i have studied in e-books that it improves hardware acceleration ,use 2d,3d graphics ..etc all those stuff other than what actually happens ?

So can anyone tell me why we go for WPF ?, and
What benefit i got in both web and windows application. ?

Yeah your right Mahesh sir,

Now WPF developers requirement is more in current industry.since i got the little
experience in WPF projects ,i tried interviews.but i was not able to answer the companies when they ask why i used WPF ?.I was not able to tell them clear definition practically what i felt ,rather i simply learn advantages from Google and tell them "3d graphics,hardware acceleration and design UI is good" ,if they ask other than why i have to choose WPF ,i am not able to answer clearly .

So i need to understand more practical advantages using WPF than using older version
win forms .

AND in web application also what benefit other than design part sir .

In a nutshell, its an improved API in compare to Windows Forms. But yes, you can build pretty much same applications using Windows Forms that you can with WPF.

But going forward, new projects are being developed in WPF, not in Windows Forms. So if you need a job, its better to learn WPF than Windows Forms. I have seen many companies are already hiring WPF developers.
