Window Services to improve speed

I'm working on a web application where I've to interact with database again and again. And database is also very bulky some tables having more than 50000 records. And records from these tables are being used to view in other pages very frequently. And in fetchig records it's taking normal time but as per client requirement it should be faster and faster as fast as possible. So i'm looking for an any way through which fetching records will be faster and fastest as possible. Someone has suggested me to go with WINDOW SERVICES to improve the speed in my web application.

I agree with Sam. Windows Services will NOT HELP you in this case. "Someone" might have suggested you a Web Service.
To speed up your application load time, you have to look at a few things and here are some pointers.
- How many records are you displaying on a page and how many records are you bringing from the database? For example, if your page displays 20 rows in a page and goes to next page and so on, you may want to bring only 200 or 500 records from the database server to your Web application.
- Look at your stored procedures SQL queries. Can they be optimized? Are you using too many SELECT *? You may want to replace with SELECT columnnames SQL query.
- If you need to bring a few columns from database, make sure not to use SELECT *.
- Use less bulky controls in ASP.NET such as a Table rather than GridView and other bulky controls if you do not need them.
- Check your code. Code is always the problem.
- Is your servers (Web and Database) are fast enough?
- Internet connection and bandwidth on the server
I would suggest to use some tools like ANTS profiler and SQL Profiler to check your application and database speed.

You should get a good book about databases. Your description of the problem is very vague so it would help if you learned about databases so you understood enough to be able to be more specific. I might be wrong, but I think that a Windows Service won't help but you don't explain why it might.

You don't specify what type of database, nor what type of access you need to optimize. You don't specify whether you are using stored procedures.
