XML Config File Tags

Hi All,

My Friend gave me an exe which he had made for a Textile shop ( it's a billing software ) .

I am not able to run in my system. Hence I checked it's XML ConFig File which Contains the Following which I really Don't understand. Please Explain me what it is ?

XML CONFIG FILE CODE :

I tried changing the XML file to my Server name and database name and if I do so then after double clicking the EXE it's just blinked for a fraction of sec and get disappeared.

and if I run it using the it's old above pasted XML CONFIG code after few mins the login screen comes on screen and seeks user name and password . Usually when my friend Runs the exe in his system the Login screen appears immediately and it contains a flexgrid which holds User names so that user can select selects , however in my case as I run EXE with the above pasted Config Code Login Screen appears after Long time with empty Flexgrid no users were Populated. I tried manually typing the User NAme and Password , again after long time A Pop up Message Shot out with saying " Object Reference not set to an Instance " ..

Please Help me how can I run the EXE into My System . How can I modify the XML Config File so that It can be executable in my system . Please Help !!!!!!!1111

I have the Bin directory which contains all the files needed to execute the exe. I change the XML config file as follows :

COMPUTER_1\SQLEXPRESS
AMS-SOLUTIONS
Now if I run the exe then the Login Screen appears for fraction of seconds and get disappeared .

Actually once you click on install any exe,there are multiple scenario
1=>what type prequistics need to add while installing application.
means additional file with configuration,it may be via internet or not.
Firstly confirm with your friend,Any other file needed to install this type of exe or not.

I think you need to check your all prequistics file are adding or not.
Because some file cannot execute without internet,so enable your internet.

Hi Thanks for your reply. Please let me know if it possible by some way that I can Decrypt it dynamically and still run in my system or is there any alternative solution for this . Please help as it's urgent for me .
My Friend is Out of station otherwise I wud have definitely ask him regards to this.

Looks like you will have to talk to your friend about it. The connection information is stored in this xml file in an encrypted format, which the application decrypting at run time and using it.
