Report A Bug - Status, add to point system

When we report a bug, is there any provision to intimate the latest status of that bug to the tester or member who reported it. No need to make the report public, at least to the member, so he can retest the issue and confirm. Also, its good to give some points to that member or prizes or include in member of the month.
