The federation metadata has contains information about the ADFS certificates. If you have enabled Metadata end point (FederationMetadata.xml file) is enabled in ADFS side, the Oauth can periodically interconnect with configurations. Because, enabling the Federation Metadata endpoint is preferred to provide standalone metadata file.
