A broadcast domain all nodes on the switch listen to the Broadcast 255.255.255.255, but a router will not forward these packets.  A collision domain is on that port specific on that switch.  This used to be the old CSMA/CD in order to pass traffic to an Ethernet network.   So the switch breaks up collision domains.
