Job Description
Intel Labs is actively seeking a motivated researcher with expertise in parallel and distributed computing, focusing on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and High-Performance Computing (HPC). This is a full-time position with the Parallel Computing Lab, a research lab dedicated to advancing computational capabilities through emerging applications. As a researcher in this lab, you will be at the forefront of devising approaches, tools, and breakthrough algorithms in areas constrained by massive computational scales. The role involves collaborating with industry and academic partners, driving future architectures via HW-SW co-design, and contributing to the development of middleware and compiler techniques to enhance performance.
Responsibilities
- Conceive, research, and prototype new parallel and distributed computing algorithms and frameworks, with a special focus on AI.
- Develop relevant software and hardware technologies with the goal of transforming research into products.
- Use scientific principles to identify and research promising technologies 3-5 years prior to product development.
- Stay updated on state-of-the-art techniques in parallel computing, machine learning, distributed computing, optimization of algorithms, and benchmarking.
- Contribute to scientific literature and the research community at large.
- Potentially participate in the development of intellectual property.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
PhD or MS Research in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a relevant engineering discipline.
Preferred Qualifications
- 1-3 years of experience in machine learning or AI-related research.
- 1-3 years of experience with Xeon or GPU programming, performance profiling, and architecture-specific optimizations.
- 1-3 years of experience spanning HW-SW co-design, system architecture, and performance optimization.
- 1-3 years of experience in compiler techniques.
