Job Description

Amazon AOP (Analytics Operations and Programs) team seeks a Business Intelligence Engineer II to join their Analytics team. This role involves applying innovative analytical frameworks to enhance operational efficiency and improve customer experiences. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and the capacity to handle multiple tasks effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Analytical Expertise. Apply multi-domain and process expertise to daily activities, managing end-to-end project roadmaps.
  2. Problem Definition. Translate complex business problems into clear analysis requirements and maintain high standards throughout execution.
  3. Data Management. Scale data processes and reports, develop queries for client updates, and lead automation efforts with data engineering.
  4. Data Sources. Work with various data sources, using efficient query development techniques to minimize post-processing. Triangulate data from multiple sources for accuracy.
  5. Project Management. Manage timelines and deliverables, focusing on team interactions and providing program communications to stakeholders.
  6. Communication. Represent the team in medium-size analytical projects, effectively communicating complex insights and business implications.

A Day in the Life

  • Solve ambiguous analyses with less well-defined inputs and outputs.
  • Derive actionable recommendations from data analysis that impact departmental processes.
  • Use statistical measures such as hypothesis testing to provide insights.
  • Identify and implement optimal communication methods based on data and stakeholder needs.

About The Team
The AOP team is dedicated to standardizing BI and analytics capabilities across multiple global marketplaces. They focus on reducing repeat analytics/reporting workloads, enhancing network efficiency, and improving defect reduction through advanced analytics and real-time dashboards.

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL, or similar technologies.
  • Proficiency in SQL and data warehousing concepts.
  • Advanced skills in Excel and familiarity with data visualization tools such as Tableau.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience with data analysis and interpretation using Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL, or similar technologies.
