Based in Visa’s Bangalore office, we are seeking an individual with deep expertise in building and operationalizing data science solutions tailored to business needs. You will leverage Visa's extensive big data sets, sometimes in conjunction with client data, to deliver impactful insights. The role requires hands-on experience with relevant technologies and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and functions.
The successful candidate will tackle diverse challenges spanning Marketing Analytics, Credit Risk, Open Banking, and more. A strong analytical mindset and the ability to independently analyze and interpret data insights are essential.
Principal Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including consultants, engineers, and data scientists to address critical business challenges.
- Support end-to-end project execution: from understanding business requirements to data collection, cleansing, feature engineering, model development, evaluation, training, and deployment, adhering to project scope and timelines.
- Define scope, methodology, design solutions, and execute using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Develop and maintain systems to measure and optimize the quality of deployed algorithms and models.
- Monitor AI models in production to assess performance, model drift, and decay.
- Innovate using VisaNet, unconventional data sources, and new modeling techniques tailored to client needs.
- Act as a data science advocate, coaching analytical teams and promoting best practices.
- Identify and implement process improvements to scale client solutions effectively.
- Collaborate with global data science and engineering teams to uphold standards and guidelines.
- Ensure compliance with legal, security, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s preferred in Data Science, Computer Science, or related fields.
- 4+ years of total experience with over 3 years as a data scientist or analytics consultant.
- Proficiency in end-to-end data engineering and analytics tasks, including machine learning model development and scaling data solutions.
- Experience with big data technologies and complex datasets; familiarity with machine learning models and tools.
- Skilled in SQL, Python/PySpark, data visualization tools (Tableau/Power BI), and Agile methodologies.
- Familiarity with Hadoop ecosystem, Apache Airflow, and cloud-based data science platforms preferred.
- Business acumen and experience in payments, banking, or related industries advantageous.
- Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
