Job Description

We are looking for a talented and motivated Database Administrator (DBA) with 3+ years of experience to join our Oracle Health & AI Engineering team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for managing and supporting critical healthcare databases across production and non-production environments.

You will play a crucial role in ensuring database availability, performance, scalability, and reliability. As part of a fast-paced, multi-tenant cloud environment, your contributions will directly support the delivery of secure, responsive, and resilient healthcare applications used by thousands of healthcare professionals globally.

This role is based in India and provides the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies such as Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, Autonomous Database, Data Guard, GoldenGate, Oracle RAC, and more.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and support Oracle databases across production, standby, non-production, and development environments.
  • Install, configure, upgrade, and patch Oracle Database and Grid Infrastructure software.
  • Monitor database health, availability, and capacity using proactive and reactive techniques.
  • Perform root cause analysis on database-related issues and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Design, implement, and maintain high-availability solutions including Data Guard, Oracle RAC, and GoldenGate.
  • Set up and manage robust database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies.
  • Apply database patches, security updates, and standalone hotfixes as required across environments.
  • Develop and maintain scripts and automation tools using Shell, Perl, or Python to streamline database operations.
  • Collaborate with engineering, infrastructure, and support teams to execute roadmap projects including.

    • Migration of legacy databases to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.

    • Transitioning workloads to Oracle Autonomous Database.

  • Maintain and optimize performance through SQL tuning, memory and I/O configuration, and resource management.
  • Ensure adherence to security policies and compliance guidelines for healthcare systems.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation including SOPs, process flows, and runbooks.
  • Provide on-call support and work flexible hours (as needed) to support mission-critical systems and ensure uptime.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 3+ years of hands-on experience as an Oracle DBA in complex environments.
  • Solid understanding of Oracle Database architecture, ASM, RMAN, Data Pump, and SQL tuning.
  • Strong experience in Unix/Linux (OEL, RHEL) systems with exposure to scripting (Shell, Perl, or Python).
  • 2+ years of experience working with cloud-native, distributed systems (preferably OCI).
  • Proficient in managing database replication and HA solutions like Data Guard and GoldenGate.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Experience with Oracle Maximum Availability Architecture (MAA) and Exadata.
  • Working knowledge of Oracle Autonomous Database and related migration tools.
  • Familiarity with Oracle RAC, Grid Infrastructure, and ASM.
  • Advanced scripting capabilities for automation using Shell, Perl, or Python.
  • Exposure to healthcare or other highly regulated industries is a plus.
