Design Engineer

Primary Responsibilities

1. Customer Input Analysis. Interpret and understand customer-provided inputs such as Change Requests (CRs) and Technical Requirement Documents (TRDs).
2. CATIA V5 Expertise. Utilize CATIA V5 for design and development tasks effectively.
3. Stack-Up and Weight Assessment. Conduct stack-up analysis and weight assessments to ensure design integrity and performance.
4. Material Selection. Apply knowledge of material properties and selection to meet design requirements.
5. Multi-Trade Experience. Manage and evaluate multiple trades, capturing the advantages and disadvantages of each to optimize design solutions.
6. GD&T and MBD Creation. Demonstrate proficiency in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and Model-Based Definition (MBD) creation.
7. 3D PDF Creation. Generate and utilize 3D PDFs for design visualization and documentation.
8. Teamcenter Knowledge. Apply basic knowledge of Teamcenter for design and project management.
9. Fastener Selection. Utilize knowledge of fastener selection to ensure the proper integration of components.
10. ICD Creation (Desirable). Experience in Interface Control Document (ICD) creation is a plus.

Minimum Requirements

1. Experience with CATIA V5. Proficiency in CATIA V5 for design and modeling.
2. Catia CPD Design Knowledge (Preferred). Familiarity with Catia CPD (Catia Product Design) is beneficial.
3. Microsoft Office Proficiency. Strong skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
4. Aerospace Structures Design Knowledge. Understanding of aerospace structural design principles.
5. Manufacturing Requirements. Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and requirements.

Preferred Skills

1. Nacelle Product and Structure Knowledge. Familiarity with nacelle products and their structural requirements.
2. Aerospace Structural Design. Experience in designing aerospace structural components, both metallic and composite.
