Your Role and Responsibilities
Welcome to the forefront of technology innovation! As a front-end developer with the IBM Z DevOps team, you will play a pivotal role in ushering in the era of DevOps in zSystems Software. Join us in powering the world's most robust business platform, where 68% of enterprise production workloads and 80% of structured enterprise data rely on IBM Z.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Ownership. Take charge of new features and capabilities, providing architectural, design, and implementation leadership for our solution.
Collaboration. Work closely with architecture and UX design teams, guiding junior software engineers in the agile implementation of high-quality deliverables.
Problem Solving. Enjoy the challenge of finding and resolving complex technical issues, applying a creative and curious mindset to push the boundaries of technology.
Modern Software Development. Bring a deep understanding of modern software architectural patterns and an interest in or experience with Design Thinking.
Communication Skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills are a must, along with the ability to bring empathy to clients, teams, design, or tasks.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- Experience. 5+ years of professional experience as a software developer.
- VS Code IDE. Strong foundation in VS Code IDE, covering Editor, Lang, Debug, Explorer, and Plugin extensions.
- Front-End Development. Proven experience in building and shipping front-end applications written in TypeScript/JavaScript, with a preference for TypeScript.
- ReactJs. Hands-on experience in crafting user experiences with ReactJs.
- Development Tools. Very familiar with modern development tools and methods such as VS Code, Git, GitHub/GitLab, Travis, Behavior-Driven Development, Scrum, SAFE, or equivalent.
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
- VS Code Expertise. Hardcore VS Code user with a deep understanding of its functionalities.
- Nodejs Applications. Expert knowledge in automated building and packaging of Nodejs applications.
- VS Code Extensions. Experience in building and shipping VS Code extensions.
- Full-Stack Development. Background in full-stack development, shipping applications with TypeScript-based front ends and Java-based backends.
- REST APIs. Experience in designing, building, and consuming REST APIs.
Cloud-Native Development. Familiarity with cloud-native development workflows, tools, and technologies.
UX Design. Preferred experience in UX design.
