Join IBM's Sustainability Software business unit as a positive and collaborative Software Engineer for the Sterling Order Management System product team. You will build responsive, enterprise-grade UI applications using cutting-edge web technologies for retail domain customers.
As a Frontend Developer, you will
- Work in an Agile, collaborative environment to understand requirements, design, code, and test innovative applications for retail customers.
- Utilize IBM's Design Thinking to create user-friendly products with high performance, security, and quality.
- Collaborate closely with designers and product owners to implement wireframes and enhance web applications.
- Ensure product quality through design and code reviews, and collaborate effectively with the Quality Assurance team.
- Play a key role in delivering industry-defining software products and cloud services globally.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- 2-3 years of experience in frontend development.
- Passion for building responsive, elegant, and engaging experiences with modern web technologies.
- Strong proficiency in HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, JavaScript, and experience with frameworks like Angular, Node.js, React.
- Familiarity with Git, responsive design patterns (media queries, flex box/grid frameworks), and AJAX techniques.
- Ability to troubleshoot technical issues logically and systematically.
- Excellent attitude and interpersonal skills, with a strong focus and commitment to quality.
- Outstanding communication skills.
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
- Proficiency in Angular, HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, or IBM Carbon Design system.
- Basic Java skills.
