Title: Java Developer Skills: Java, object oriented development experience, Server-side Java development, Programming methodologies, Software development processes Location: Atlanta, GA (Downtown) Area code: 404 Tax term: CON_CORP CON_IND CON_W2 Pay rate: Open Length: 6+ Months Position ID: BB07039 Job description: Requirement Specification This mid-level Systems Engineer/Java Developer will be responsible for analyzing existing systems and processes, proposing and/or implementing necessary system modifications or enhancements, and will be able to document / diagram existing and proposed processes, determine solutions to technical problems, test applications and assist implementing those solutions. Implementing small projects that require configuration setup and testing will also be performed. ***Skill Set ** Mid Level**** Experience and Skills Required: **Bachelors degree or equivalent experience **4+ years overall experience in IT industry **Experience in USA (5+ years) **3 years experience in JAVA programming development **1+ years of object oriented development experience **Server-side Java development experience **Programming methodologies **Software development processes **Experience with relational databases, primarily SQL Server **Exceptional communication skills both written and oral **Experience in a high transaction processing center will be a huge plus but not required **XML, API, C++ or .Net experience a plus but not required **Experience with client/server technology **Ability to work under pressure; must thrive in fast-paced environment with little structure **Strong people skills; must be team player willing to wear multiple hats **Creative problem solving Must have skills: 3 years of experience in the Java / J2EE environment, XML, JBOSS, WebServices, SQL Server, XML Messaging. We expect candidates to have varying combinations of these skills: **Object-Oriented Analysis/Design **Web Development (HTML, JSPs, taglibs, Struts, EJBs) **Database (SQL), XML **Experience with a documentation software, such as VISIO **Knowledge of development methods and practices in a multi-platform environment **Analytical skills **Knowledge of JRlues, Ant, SOAP, Web Services, JUnit, Mercury, Load Runner. **Java / J2EE **JBoss, Maven, CruiseControl, SubVersion, Pentaho, Hibernate **SQL Server, Oracle, PostGres **Dell Commodity Servers for Transaction Processing, Unisys ES7000 for OLTP database **Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of management and staff **Ability to analyze business or system issues and provide solutions. **Ability to provide and consider alternative solutions. **Strong understanding of impact analysis and effective program change control. **Knowledge of development methods and practices in a multi-platform environment. **Able to thrive in extremely fast-paced environment with flexible structure & methodologies **Should be familiar with the following: JSP, XML, SQL, J2EE frameworks, Struts, Ant, and one or more Java Application Servers (JBoss, Tomcat, Oracle 10gAS, etc.
