Job Description

As a Lead Consultant specializing in Mainframes, you'll play a pivotal role in orchestrating and collaborating with multiple partners to deliver critical solutions for our Capital Markets platform. You'll be at the forefront of the software development process, focusing on development, maintenance, and support of various Mainframe applications. Here's what you'll be responsible for:

Responsibilities

  1. Contribute to Product Design. Participate in the design and requirement establishment phase, ensuring alignment with project objectives.
  2. Lead Engineering Activities. Drive engineering efforts to maintain high-quality standards throughout the product development lifecycle.
  3. Proactive Problem Diagnosis. Anticipate and diagnose issues while envisioning long-term solutions for product enhancement.
  4. Ensure SDLC Delivery. Oversee the software development lifecycle, ensuring timely and budget-conscious project delivery.
  5. Collaboration and Communication. Work closely with product managers, scrum masters, and cross-functional teams to balance product architecture and delivery timelines.
  6. Feature Development. Design, implement, and launch prominent features using Test Driven Development practices, while ensuring seamless operation in production.
  7. Continuous Learning and Improvement. Stay updated with application capabilities, mentor junior engineers, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (BE/B Tech) or MCA.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience in delivering Mainframe solutions using technologies such as COBOL, CICS, DB2, VSAM, JCL, and STORED PROCEDURES.
  • Proficiency in programming, debugging, and relational databases.
  • Familiarity with CICS Web Services and DB2 Stored Procedures is advantageous.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across all levels within Technology, Business, and Operations.
