Responsibilities
- Administering Oracle databases (12c and 19c) in both standalone and Real Application Clusters (RAC) configurations.
- Leading database design and development activities, including creating logical and physical models based on client specifications.
- Performing full-cycle DBA tasks, installation, configuration, upgrades, patching, tuning, user management, backup/recovery, and monitoring.
- Managing ASM storage including Diskgroup creation, migration, and rebalancing.
- Implementing Oracle Data Guard Broker, configuring high availability/disaster recovery setups, and testing failover procedures.
- Conducting performance analysis through AWR and ADDM reports to identify and resolve bottlenecks.
- Handling schema migrations using exp/imp and Data Pump utilities, including cross-platform migrations.
- Automating repetitive database functions using custom scripts (Shell, Perl, PL/SQL).
- Troubleshooting incidents and collaborating with cross-functional teams (internal stakeholders and external customers).
- Creating detailed documentation including Business Requirements, High-Level and Low-Level Designs.
- Staying on top of industry trends, recommending architecture improvements, and participating in strategic planning for DB infrastructure.
What We’re Looking For
- A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (BE/MCA preferred).
- 10+ years of hands-on experience managing Oracle database environments in complex enterprise ecosystems.
- Deep expertise in Core Oracle database architecture and tools (including RAC/ASM).
- Proficient in SQL, PL/SQL, and scripting (Shell or Perl).
- Basic familiarity with Oracle Fusion Middleware (WebLogic) is a plus.
- Experience working with Cloud platforms such as Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), AWS, or Azure.
- Solid understanding of Oracle Enterprise Manager and monitoring best practices.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to mentor junior team members and contribute to a collaborative team culture.
- Proven organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
