Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Oracle Cloud DBA with a solid background in AWS cloud environments to manage and support critical Oracle database systems. This role demands expertise in high-availability systems, such as Oracle RAC and hands-on experience with Redis and Elastic DB. The ideal candidate will have a proactive approach to optimizing database performance, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring seamless database operations.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Cloud Database Administration. Leverage your AWS cloud expertise to manage databases as a cloud DBA.
  2. Oracle RAC Expertise. Implement, configure, and maintain Oracle RAC environments to ensure database availability and scalability.
  3. Database Patch Management. Execute database patching, including Critical Patch Updates (CPU) and patch sets to maintain system integrity and security.
  4. Database Upgrades. Perform upgrades from Oracle 10g/11g to Oracle 12c, ensuring minimal disruption and compatibility.
  5. Schema and Object Management. Handle application patching, schema changes, and process database object change requests.
  6. SQL & PL/SQL Review. Review and troubleshoot SQL & PL/SQL scripts to optimize database performance.
  7. Query Performance Investigation. Identify and resolve performance issues, applying both reactive and proactive approaches to tuning poorly performing queries.
  8. Data Copying and Cloning. Manage data copying and cloning across various database environments for development and testing.
  9. OEM Monitoring and Space Management. Configure and monitor databases in Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM), including job scheduling, alert log monitoring, and space management.
  10. 24/7 Production Support. Provide reliable support for critical business databases, maintaining high availability and quick issue resolution.

Mandatory Skills

  1. Oracle DBA - Core Skills. Expertise in core Oracle DBA tasks, including Oracle on RHEL and Oracle Linux environments.
  2. Communication Skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with teams and document database processes.
