We are seeking a seasoned Senior Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) with robust experience in AWS cloud environments. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of Oracle RAC (Real Application Clusters), Dataguard, and performance tuning techniques. This role demands proficiency in managing business-critical databases and providing round-the-clock support.
Key Responsibilities
- Utilize AWS cloud expertise to administer databases efficiently in cloud environments.
- Demonstrate proficiency in Oracle RAC environment management, Redis, and Elastic DB.
- Perform application patching and manage schema objects effectively.
- Provide 24*7 support for mission-critical databases, ensuring high availability.
- Execute seamless database upgrades from Oracle 10g/11g to Oracle 12c.
- Handle database object change requests and meticulously review SQL & PL-SQL scripts.
- Proactively identify and resolve poorly-performing queries to enhance database performance.
- Facilitate data transfer between different database environments.
- Monitor jobs, alert logs, and space usage, and configure new databases using OEM.
- Possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective collaboration.
- Lead the implementation and installation of Oracle RAC environments.
- Conduct database patching, including CPU and patch set application.
- Manage Oracle databases on RHEL (Red Hat Enterprise Linux) and Oracle Linux platforms.
- Execute database cloning tasks across various environments.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 6-12 years of hands-on experience as an Oracle DBA, with significant exposure to AWS.
- Proficiency in Oracle RAC, Dataguard, and performance tuning methodologies.
- Experience in database upgrades and patching, particularly from Oracle 10g/11g to 12c.
- Strong command over SQL & PL-SQL scripting for efficient database management.
- Proven track record of handling business-critical databases in high-pressure environments.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve issues promptly.
- AWS certification(s) would be advantageous.
- Immediate availability or notice period of up to 15 days is preferred.
