We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Machine Learning to join our team focused on developing state-of-the-art Natural Language Processing (NLP) and computer vision algorithms. This role involves enhancing content understanding and classification, which directly impacts member engagement and communication on our platform.
Responsibilities
- Algorithm Development. Design and implement next-generation algorithms to analyze visual and textual content, improving understanding of member interactions.
- Model Scaling. Develop and optimize text, image, and video classification models capable of handling millions of pieces of content across numerous categories.
- Video Systems. Create scalable platforms for video processing, utilizing multi-GPU setups and advanced modeling techniques.
- End-to-End Ownership. Manage the entire model development lifecycle, from proof of concept (POC) through design to deployment at scale.
- Mentorship. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior research engineers on advanced machine learning techniques for solving business problems.
- Representation. Act as a representative for LinkedIn in academic and industry circles, showcasing our innovations and contributions to the field.
Basic Qualifications
- Education. Master’s degree OR Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of work experience.
- Experience. 5+ years in one or more of the following areas: computer vision, image processing, machine learning, statistical modeling/inference, data mining, NLP, or related fields.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced Degree. Ph.D. in computer science, statistics, engineering, mathematics, or a related quantitative discipline.
- Specialized Experience. 5+ years of hands-on experience with machine learning, computer vision, deep learning for video, and large-scale data handling.
- Software Engineering. Strong understanding of programming best practices and software engineering principles.
- Publications. Proven record of publications in relevant academic and industry venues.
- Programming Skills. Proficiency in programming with a desire to contribute code and solutions.
