We are seeking an accomplished Sr. Director of Engineering to spearhead our Bengaluru engineering teams. As a pivotal technology leader, you will drive the development of our next-generation payments platform, enabling seamless fund transfers across diverse account types and delivering value-added services tailored to local market demands. The ideal candidate will possess a proven track record in hiring top-tier engineering talent, aligning technical solutions with business objectives, and fostering a culture of excellence, creativity, and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the recruitment and expansion of our engineering team in Bengaluru and globally, ensuring the acquisition of top talent.
- Cultivate a culture of engineering excellence, emphasizing security, quality, scalability, and maintainability in solution development.
- Foster a collaborative environment, promoting creativity, innovation, ownership, and pride in work.
- Drive the development of common infrastructure and functional capabilities, emphasizing reusability across the Visa Ecosystem.
- Champion productivity enhancements, leveraging cutting-edge tools and methodologies such as ChatGPT and Copilot.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to prioritize and execute projects using agile methodologies, influencing product roadmaps and strategies.
- Manage multiple projects concurrently, resolving conflicts, and meeting deadlines effectively.
- Ensure applications meet defined objectives for Operational Level Agreements (OLA) and Service Level Agreements (SLA).
Qualifications
Basic
- Bachelor's degree with 12+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred
- Bachelor's degree with 15+ years of experience or Advanced Degree (e.g., Masters, MBA, JD, MD, PhD) with 12+ years of experience.
- Extensive leadership experience in mission-critical system applications supporting high transaction systems.
- Proven track record in building software for high-throughput, low-latency domains.
- Strong technology background with the ability to engage in cross-functional priorities.
- Demonstrated success in organizational transformations and fostering a culture of innovation and discipline.
- Proficiency in ideation, execution, delivery, and support of products in production.
- Strategic thinking, keeping abreast of state-of-the-art technologies and trends.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, influencing, and negotiation skills.
- Experience with Java/J2EE, container, and database technologies.
- Understanding of security requirements, standards, and contemporary trends.
- Domain expertise in cross-border money movement and payment technologies.
