We are looking for a seasoned and highly skilled Tableau BI Developer with a minimum of 7 years of experience in designing and delivering impactful business intelligence solutions. This role plays a critical part in our data-driven decision-making process by transforming raw data into visually appealing, interactive, and insightful dashboards. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business stakeholders, analysts, and data engineers, to deliver robust Tableau-based reporting solutions that provide real-time insights and drive strategic initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and Maintain Dashboards. Design, build, and deploy dynamic and visually compelling Tableau dashboards, reports, and visualizations that are aligned with key business objectives and user requirements.
- Stakeholder Collaboration. Engage with business users, analysts, and decision-makers to gather reporting requirements, understand key metrics, and translate them into effective Tableau solutions.
- Advanced Tableau Features. Utilize Tableau’s advanced functionalities, including calculated fields, parameters, filters, level-of-detail (LOD) expressions, and dashboard actions to deliver interactive user experiences.
- Data Integration. Connect and integrate data from diverse sources including MySQL databases, spreadsheets, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), and third-party APIs. Ensure consistency and integrity across datasets.
- Performance Optimization. Monitor and optimize performance of Tableau workbooks and dashboards. Implement best practices in data extract strategies, query optimization, and dashboard design to support fast load times and scalability.
- Data Quality Assurance. Conduct thorough validation and testing of dashboards to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency. Implement quality assurance procedures to monitor data hygiene.
- Tableau Server Management. Administer Tableau Server or Tableau Online environment including managing data sources, publishing workbooks, setting permissions, and scheduling data refreshes. Ensure robust security and role-based access control.
- End-user Support & Training. Provide hands-on support and training to business users. Develop documentation, user guides, and conduct knowledge transfer sessions to ensure effective use of Tableau dashboards.
- Issue Resolution. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data discrepancies, performance bottlenecks, access permissions, and dashboard rendering.
- Continuous Learning. Stay abreast of the latest developments in Tableau and BI trends. Evaluate and adopt new features and enhancements that can add value to the organization’s BI capabilities.
Required Skills and Experience
- Minimum 7 years of professional experience in Tableau development with a strong portfolio of dashboards and reports.
- Expertise in Business Intelligence (BI) tools and concepts.
- Proficient in SQL and experience working with MySQL or similar relational databases.
- Solid understanding of data modeling, ETL processes, and data warehousing concepts.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) for data hosting and access.
- Experience integrating data from APIs and third-party platforms.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work closely with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with Tableau Server/Online administration is highly desirable.
- Background in data science, statistical analysis, or predictive analytics is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
- Tableau Desktop and Server Certification.
- Experience with other BI tools such as Power BI, Qlik, or Looker.
- Exposure to programming languages like Python or R for data analysis.
- Knowledge of Agile methodologies and experience working in cross-functional Agile teams.
