We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented UK Payroll Team Lead to oversee end-to-end UK payroll processing. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of payroll legislation, exceptional attention to detail, and previous experience in team management. This role requires ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing, compliance with HMRC regulations, and continuous improvement of payroll processes.
Key Responsibilities
- End-to-End Payroll Processing. Demonstrate strong knowledge and proficiency in end-to-end UK Payroll Processing.
- Monthly Payroll Runs. Execute monthly payroll runs accurately and ensure timely payments.
- HMRC Submissions. Perform FPS, EPS, and GTN reconciliation and ensure timely submission to HMRC.
- Overpayment Management. Understand and manage gross and net overpayment calculations effectively.
- Year-End Activities. Handle year-end payroll activities such as End of Year and Start of Year processes and P11D reporting in accordance with legislation.
- Report Analysis. Analyze and validate pre- and post-payroll run reports to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- CR/SR Testing. Collaborate on Change Requests (CR) and Service Requests (SR) testing requirements.
- SLA Compliance. Execute payroll tasks as per prescribed guidelines and timelines to meet Service Level Agreement (SLA) targets.
- Expert Advice. Provide expert advice and interpretation of payroll legislation to support team members.
- Continuous Improvement. Identify opportunities for improvement, make suggestions, and implement appropriate changes to enhance payroll processes.
Requirements
- Payroll Legislation Knowledge. Possess in-depth and up-to-date knowledge of UK payroll legislation.
- Attention to Detail. Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy and compliance in payroll processing.
- Service Delivery. Demonstrated ability to deliver payroll services in line with agreed service levels.
- Team Management. Previous experience in managing a payroll team is required.
- Excel Proficiency. Strong Excel skills including vlookups and other relevant functions.
- Communication Skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Compliance Understanding. Understanding of compliance requirements related to payroll processing.
- Professionalism. Maintain a professional and approachable disposition in the workplace.
