![Quick Share Android]()
Google has announced a major step toward cross-platform compatibility: Quick Share on Android now works with Apple’s AirDrop, starting with the newly launched Pixel 10 family. The update allows Android and iPhone users to share photos, videos and files without worrying about which device they’re using.
The goal is simple. Sharing moments between friends and family should work without extra steps, and Google says users have been asking for a cleaner, universal way to move files across devices. With this update, Quick Share and AirDrop can now communicate directly, giving both platforms a frictionless way to connect.
Security was a key priority. Google built the feature with strong privacy safeguards and brought in independent security experts to validate the protections. This follows Google’s broader push for better interoperability between operating systems, including support for RCS and alerts for unknown trackers.
The rollout begins today with the Pixel 10 family, with plans to expand to more Android devices over time. Google says it will continue refining the experience as more users test the new cross-platform sharing flow.
