Anthropic Launches “Agents for Financial Services”: 10 New Ready-to-Run Templates
Anthropic Agents for financial services

Anthropic has officially released ten ready-to-run agent templates specifically designed for high-stakes, time-consuming tasks in the financial services and insurance sectors. These agents are built to handle "real financial work" by integrating domain-specific skills, governed data connectors, and specialized sub-agents.

1. The Ten New Agent Templates

The templates are divided into front-office research and back-office operations, allowing teams to deploy them in days rather than months:

Research & Client CoverageFinance & Operations
Pitch Builder: Drafts pitchbooks and creates target lists.Month-end Closer: Runs close checklists and prepares reports.
Meeting Preparer: Assembles client briefs before calls.Statement Auditor: Reviews financials for consistency.
Earnings Reviewer: Flags thesis-relevant changes in transcripts.KYC Screener: Reviews source documents for compliance.
Model Builder: Maintains models from filings and feeds.Valuation Reviewer: Checks valuations against standards.
Market Researcher: Tracks sector and issuer developments.General Ledger Reconciler: Reconciles accounts and runs NAV.

2. Deep Integration with Microsoft 365

Claude now works natively across Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook (coming soon) via the Claude add-ins for Microsoft 365.

  • Automatic Context: Context carries automatically between applications, allowing work that starts in a model to end in a presentation deck without re-explaining details.

  • Excel Power: In Excel, agents can build models from filings, audit formulas across linked workbooks, and run sensitivity analyses.

  • Outlook Chief of Staff: Acts as a "chief of staff" to triage inboxes and draft responses in the user's specific voice.

3. Broad Financial Data Ecosystem

Anthropic is expanding its partner network to give agents governed, real-time access to critical market data:

  • New Connectors: Direct access to platforms like FactSet, PitchBook, S&P Capital IQ, Moody's, Morningstar, and LSEG.

  • Specialized Research: Integrations with Third Bridge for expert interviews, IBISWorld for industry-level ratios, and SS&C IntraLinks for DealCentre data room access.

  • Moody’s MCP App: Moody’s has launched an MCP app that embeds proprietary credit ratings and data on 600 million+ companies directly inside the Claude interface.

4. Built for Institutional Governance

The release includes specialized "cookbooks" for Claude Managed Agents, providing the infrastructure required by enterprise security teams:

  • Auditability: A full audit log in the Claude Console allows compliance teams to inspect every tool the agent uses.

  • Persistence: Supports long-running sessions capable of working throughout a multi-hour deal close.

  • Security: Features per-tool permissions and managed credential vaults for secure data access.

These templates represent a reference architecture for the "Agent-First Bank". By leveraging the Model Context Protocol (MCP) and specialized sub-agents, developers can now build financial tools that move beyond simple chat, acting as autonomous members of a front, middle, or back-office team. Teams can begin using these templates in Claude Cowork and Claude Code today.
