Apple has officially unveiled Siri AI, a completely reimagined version of Siri powered by the next generation of Apple Intelligence. Announced at WWDC 2026, the new assistant is designed to be more conversational, personalized, and deeply integrated across Apple’s ecosystem, marking the most significant evolution of Siri since its launch.  

A New Siri Built for the AI Era

According to Apple, Siri AI combines personal context understanding, broad world knowledge, and onscreen awareness to help users find information and complete tasks more naturally. The assistant can search across messages, emails, photos, notes, and other personal content while also retrieving up-to-date information from the web.  

Apple says Siri AI is powered by a new architecture built around Apple Intelligence and designed with privacy at its core. Requests are processed either on-device or through Apple’s Private Cloud Compute infrastructure.  

Key Features of Siri AI

Personal Context Understanding

Siri AI can understand information stored across a user’s Apple ecosystem and use that context to answer questions more intelligently.

Examples include:

• Finding a previously shared address in Messages

• Locating photos from a specific trip

• Retrieving information from emails

• Surfacing personal documents and notes

Apple says this allows Siri to act more like a true personal assistant rather than a simple voice command interface.  

Onscreen Awareness

One of the headline features is onscreen awareness.

Siri AI can understand what is currently displayed on a device and answer questions related to that content. For example, users can ask questions about a message, image, webpage, or document without manually providing context.  

Web-Powered Intelligence

Unlike previous versions of Siri, the new assistant can access broad world knowledge and retrieve current information from the web.

Users can ask questions about:

• Events

• Travel

• Sports

• Entertainment

• Science

• Current topics

and continue with natural follow-up conversations.  

More Natural Conversations

Apple has redesigned Siri AI to support richer, chatbot-like interactions with detailed responses and conversational memory.

The assistant can maintain context throughout a discussion and handle multi-step requests more effectively than previous generations.  

A Dedicated Siri AI App

For the first time, Apple is launching a standalone Siri AI application alongside system-wide integration.

The app provides a dedicated conversational experience similar to modern AI assistants, while conversations can sync across Apple devices using iCloud and Apple’s cloud infrastructure.  

Deep Integration Across Apple’s Ecosystem

Siri AI is built directly into:

• iPhone

• iPad

• Mac

• Apple Watch

• Apple Vision Pro

• CarPlay

• AirPods

Users can invoke Siri through voice commands, hardware buttons, Spotlight, Dynamic Island gestures, context menus, and spatial interfaces inside Vision Pro.  

App Actions and Workflow Automation

Apple has expanded Siri’s ability to perform actions across applications.

Siri AI can:

• Draft emails

• Edit photos

• Share content

• Create notes

• Manage reminders

• Execute tasks across multiple apps

The company says these new system-wide actions make Siri significantly more useful for everyday productivity.  

Visual Intelligence Integration

Siri AI also works with Apple’s Visual Intelligence system.

Users can ask questions about objects, documents, photos, or scenes and receive contextual information and recommendations. This capability extends Siri beyond text and voice interactions into multimodal AI experiences.  

Privacy Remains Central

Apple emphasized that privacy remains a key differentiator.

According to the company:

• Many requests are processed entirely on-device

• Sensitive operations use Private Cloud Compute

• User data remains under user control

• Personal information is protected through Apple’s privacy architecture

Apple repeatedly highlighted privacy as a core principle throughout the Siri AI announcement.  

Availability

Siri AI is available to developers starting now, with a public beta expected later this year. Initial support will launch in English, with additional languages planned in future releases. Some regions, including the European Union and China, may receive the rollout later due to regulatory considerations.
