Apple Unveils iPhone XS And iPhone XS Max

Apple just announced the new models of iPhones in their special event at Steve Jobs Theater on its circular Apple Park campus in Cupertino, California. The next generation of iPhones is called iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max. The models are said to be the biggest and most advanced iPhones yet.

Almost identical to the previous model, the upgrades mainly revolve around specifications like the display with dynamic range, better and wider quality of sound from the speakers, better water resistance and a faster Face ID recognition. The new models also have a new A12 Bopmic processor from Apple that is the only six-core chip with a 7nm processor making it “by far the most advanced iPhone we have ever created” according to Tim Cook, Chief Executive Officer of Apple Inc.

The component that is catching the attention of many is the size of the Max which is the biggest yet with a 6.5-inch screen but the traditional width for the comfort of the person holding it. Meanwhile, XS is still around the same size as the previous releases being merely 5.8-inch in size. The two iPhone are also both available in gold, unlike its predecessor.

Both these models will be available in three storage capacities - 64GB, 256GB, and 512GB, with a starting price of $999 and $1099 respectively for iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max. The company will start taking pre-orders from Friday, September 14, 2018, while the shipping of the products will start exactly one week later, i.e., September 21, 2018.

The updates seem to suggest that Apple has finally decided to follow the trend of phones with bigger screens since that’s the update that stands out the most since the other upgrades involve better quantity in already existing features. Analysts believe that people might not be interested in swapping their existing devices because of the limited updates though only time can tell if the release will be a success or not.
