MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. — January 2026 — Google has announced new Google Developer Program (GDP) plans — Premium, AI Pro, and AI Ultra — aimed at giving developers expanded access to advanced AI models, tools, and higher usage limits as generative AI moves deeper into production workloads.
The new tiers are designed to support developers building increasingly sophisticated AI-powered applications, from early experimentation to large-scale, commercial deployments. Google said the plans reflect growing demand for reliable access to high-performance models, predictable pricing, and enterprise-ready capabilities.
The AI Pro and AI Ultra plans offer enhanced access to Google’s latest Gemini models, higher rate limits, and expanded context windows, enabling developers to build more capable and responsive applications. These tiers are intended for teams working on production systems that require consistent performance, scalability, and advanced reasoning or multimodal features.
GDP Premium focuses on developers who want deeper platform support, including priority access to new capabilities, enhanced tooling, and additional resources to accelerate development. Google positioned the Premium tier as a bridge between individual developers and enterprise-scale usage.
Across all tiers, Google emphasized improved transparency around usage and limits, helping developers better plan costs as AI becomes a core part of their applications. The company also highlighted ongoing investments in tooling, documentation, and performance optimizations to make it easier to move from prototype to production.
