Microsoft Launches Two New Cybersecurity Services

Microsoft Azure Sentinel reduces threat hunting from hours to seconds and Microsoft Threat Experts offers a one-click connect with top security experts.

Microsoft, recently, unveiled the preview releases of two new cloud-based security services: Azure Sentinel and Threat Experts.

Azure Sentinel is a native security information and event management (SIEM) tool that runs in Microsoft's public cloud. It uses artificial intelligence (AI) and scalable machine learning algorithms to analyze and detect threats alongside offering a significant reduction in alert fatigue.

"Azure Sentinel blends the insights of Microsoft experts and AI with the unique insights and skills of your own in-house defenders and machine learning tools to uncover the most sophisticated attacks before they take root. Azure Sentinel helps empower SecOps teams to keep their organizations safe by harnessing the power, simplicity and extensibility of Azure to analyze data from Microsoft 365 and security solutions from other vendors." wrote Ann Johnson, corporate vice president for Cybersecurity Solutions at Microsoft.

Azure Sentinel is available in preview from the Azure portal.

Microsoft Threat Experts is a new service within Windows Defender ATP that provides managed hunting to extend the capability of your security operations center team. This will help proactively hunt over your anonymized security data for the most important threats (such as human adversary intrusions, hands-on-keyboard attacks and advanced attacks like cyberespionage). This will help you prioritize the most important risks and respond quickly. The service comes with world-class expertise on demand. With the newly added "Ask a Threat Expert" button, you can ask questions directly in the product console.
