Microsoft Releases Windows Template Studio 2.2

Microsoft has released Windows Template Studio 2.2 and stated that they would be doing smaller updates for their future releases to add in new pages and fixes. The company discloses that for 3.0, they are working on multi-project support and adjustments are being made in their templates to support it.

In the new version, the users can expect to see.

  • Updated Microsoft.NETCore.UniversalWindowsPlatform to 6.15
  • Updated Newtonsoft.Json to 11.0.2
  • Updated Microsoft.Toolkit.Uwp, Microsoft.Toolkit.Uwp.Notifications and Microsoft.Toolkit.Uwp.UI.Controls to 3.0.0
  • Update Telerik.UI.for.UniversalWindowsPlatform to 1.0.1

Current users of Visual Studio will get an automatic update or they can force the update through the Extensions and Update option in Tools. The users who don't have VSIX installed can get it with the latest updates from the windows website.

Microsoft also shared the features that they are currently working on for the future update. The features were-menubar navigation pattern template, WinUI Library NuGet package integration, continued refinement with Fluent Design in the templates, work for supporting multiple projects in a single solution, Ink templates, User Activity APIs for Timeline support and an improved Right-click->add support for existing projects.

Furthermore, they added that they appreciate the participation of the community with whose partnership, they can develop and upgrade their products to be more user-friendly and invited the community to make requests if they had any new ideas or feature requests.
