Microsoft To Release HoloLens 2 This Year

Microsoft is planning to release the next version of HoloLens this year.

Microsoft is planning to release the next version of HoloLens this year. After rumors that Microsoft might start developing V3 stopping the development of V2 later this year, HoloLens V2 can be released but the company has not specified if the release is for a developer preview or general availability.

The company is expected to release a lighter version that is more comfortable to wear and has an improved graphics display. It will be including a variant of Windows 10, a custom Al chip and the latest generation of kinetic sensor.

To boost up its battery life, Microsoft is said to be testing its future versions of handsets with ARM-base processer. All that and much more can be expected out of the new HoloLens at a lower price than that of the current version.

Despite having the upper hand because Microsoft ships hardware, investment is rapidly being done by Apple, Google, Magic leap and many others on this segment of the market which means that Microsoft won't be the only competitor in the market for long. It is a hardly prominent company when it comes to smartphones so it is apparent that they are aiming towards being on top when it comes to the devices of this generation, hence, now focusing more on MR/AR market.
