Great performance

100/100 in Google PageSpeed - a store built on nopCommerce 4.20 works really fast (for mobile this result would be 99/100). What was done to gain it?

First, the platform was upgraded to ASP.NET Core 2.2 and EF Core 2.2 because the previous version of EF Core had a critical performance issue when operating with databases.

Second, the complex of the small changes was made:
  • using of minified and compression HTML;
  • faster generation of bundled and minified JS and CSS;
  • all JS libraries are moved to the footer;
  • cache is clearing much faster than in previous versions;
  • KendoUI grid was replaced by fast and lightweight DataTables.
Linux and Docker support

nopCommerce team started the transition to the full support of UNIX-based systems. nopCommerce 4.20 can be already run on Linux. Adding MySQL is in the immediate goals of the team. The new version of the platform will also provide Docker support.
